And the Winner is...

As the title suggests, I'm just gonna do...
...reviews of movies and books I've seen/read this summer so far!!!
Yea, not all that creative, but I can't think of anything else to do, and it's something to do before I go over seas in 10 DAYS...
Oh my gosh, I'm so excited to go over to Germany. I got my euros and I'm going to start packing next week, so it's really freaking me out. I mean, me across the world!!! Still wrapping my brain around it.
I started working on my project, which I talked about in my last post, but the computer kept freezing up, so looking up Johannes Kepler and Albert Einstein will have to wait. I got a lot of info on another, not-as-famous-as-them German-American astronomer named Rudolph Minkowski, and I must say, I now love the man. He, with another man who's name escapes me at the moment (will look it up later), created the classification system of nebulae based on their structures. To clarify, nebulae, the plural of nebula, are clouds of dust that are in the sky that, with enough pressure and heat, can create stars. They are commonly referred to as star nurseries, and my profile pic is the Pillars of God, that in my opinion is the coolest looking one out there besides the Hand of God which is just INSANE. They are absolutely gorgeous and shine with an array of colors. Look up nebula if you want to learn more about them, and I suggest you do so because they are one of my favorite things in the night sky.
Well, see you all later, with a brand new post talking about Toy Story 3!!! :D

Hmm... Wonder what I should do...

I'm not really sure how I shall use this blog. I started it to get my ideas and thoughts out to the world, but I now want to have a purpose to it besides that. I was thinking about posting stories and random writings on here, but I already do that with the book blog. Using this as a diary sort of thing is kinda creeper, so ix-nay on that one. Movie/book reviews? That's the best idea I have so far. Comment any ideas you may have. I'd appreciate them.
Anyway, 10 days till Germany!!! Getting nervous. I mean, I always have been with varying levels of being scared, but after getting my passport (it's really cool, btw) and the euros (those are really weird. No offense any European readers out there; I just like american money, in terms of bills. Coins, the euro coins kick butt.), it really puts everything into perspective.
I have to work on my project I'm giving over there. I decided, after quite a struggle to find something to do, that I'm doing German-American astronomers or astronauts. I like astronomy (that is SUCH an understatement - it was my obsession and LIFE in past years) and I think that they'd enjoy being sucked up to, as my dad said. Mom and I smacked him for that one. :P
Right now, summer's been pretty boring. I've been reading, writing, drawing, and staying up late. I've also been on the computer a bunch, but I haven't really written a lot on here because I'm not sure what to say (if confused by that, refer back to the first paragraph).
Well, can't really think of much else to say. Thanks for reading!!! :D

Hello World!!! ;)

They say the first impression either makes or breaks the relationship of two things, whether it be between two people, a person and an animal, or just about any two connections of anything. I honestly hope this first post doesn't break your relationship with this blog. Sure it's new and made from a not-so-sucessful blogger in the past, but I hope you find it witty and charming noneoftheless, whether you like it or not.
Now, onto business.
This blog is just kinda a way for me to peek into the web and say, "Hi world, it's me - love me or hate me, I'm not gonna change for you." Going into high school next year, so I'm gonna have to start getting to know the world then. Going to Germany in 15 days as well - AHHHHHHHHHH - so that'll also be a big way to do that.
Since I brought it up, going to Germany will be the biggest milestone in my life so far. It'll be the first time I'm away from my family for more than a week (camp works wonders for building you up for this sort of thing) and the first time I've ever flown on an airplane (mom hates to fly, plus airfare for 6 people is insane), as well as the first time I've ever been out of the country. I'm also only a level 3 german student, so I'm not exactly feeling prepared to go to the country where they speak a language fluently that I only barely know. I mean, 3 years is a lot of time, but not enough to prepare you for that. I know I'm gonna have a fun time, though, so not worried too much. My host family seems fairly nice and everyone who's been to Germany that I know says that I won't have to speak German 24/7 since most everyone knows english.
Summer's been fun so far. Beginning was rough with me dealing with the fact that almost all of my friends are going to other high schools and I'm going to the one only my best friend is going to. However, I've been to the movies twice - saw Toy Story 3 both times and it ROCKED - been to the pool multiple times, and I've gotten the best book most likely in the world, Lies.
Gone, Hunger and Lies are books in the Gone series written by Michael Grant. They tell the story of the FAYZ (Fallout Alley Youth Zone) where people over the age of 15 have disappeared at the same moment and only kids younger than 15 remain. All communication means have stopped working - tv's, radios, phones - and suddenly kids start gaining unnatural powers, like being able to run faster than a speeding bullet and shooting lethal laser-like beams of light out of their hands. Bullys start trying to run the town, killing kids to gain power and fear. Animals start mutating. Fear runs rampant. Suddenly, kids who turn 15 disappear as strangely as their parents did. And Sam the main character will turn 15 within a week in the FAYZ.
Just a small description of the book. LOVE them. Seriously - check them out.
Well, that's kinda my life so far - freaking out for Germany, reading an awesome book and preparing for high school. Well, I'll check back in soon. Hope you like this blog so far. ;)
